Which Way to the Pedway?

In 1973 The Chicago 21 Plan was released by the Chicago Central Area Committee (CCAC).  This committee was founded by some of Chicago's most influential business and civic leaders and was subtitled “A Plan for the Central Area Communities".

There were many great changes and some that left many downtown residents with very few choices.  However, the committee did give rise to an expansion to a little discussed gem in the surrounding loop area.  That gem is known as the Pedway System.

According to Wikipedia.com
The Chicago Pedway is a network of tunnels, ground-level concourses and overhead bridges connecting skyscrapers, retail stores, hotels and train stations throughout the central business district of Chicago, Illinois. Covering more than 40 downtown blocks, it contains shops, restaurants and public art and helps pedestrians traverse this area of the city during inclement weather. Construction on the Pedway began in 1951 and it has continued since then, especially after expansion of it was included in the Chicago 21 Plan introduced in 1973. Most connections to the pedway are commercial or government buildings. The Heritage at Millennium Park, the Park Millennium and Aqua building are currently the only residential buildings connected to the Chicago Pedway.

So we know the weather is about to turn this city into a winter wonderland and quite a beast to traverse.  The Pedway system is a viable option for those of us who spend a great deal of time Downtown.

Lets talk about your options "In, and Out of the Loop".

Who Needs a Gym Membership?

Ok, so you are spending another Chicago winter shuffling from office, to car, to home.  Trying your hardest to make it to the next destination without Jack Frost taking your ear or nose as a trophy.  Knowing how cold this winter is going to be, who has time (or the desire) to drag themselves to the gym just to honor an $80 a month membership?  To be honest, I bet 90% would answer "not me!".

Solution:
Work out where you live!

There are several fantastic apartment buildings in the Loop, North Loop, South Loop, River North, River West and Gold Coast that offer State-of-the-art equipment, and even Cardio and Aerobic classes.  Imagine going to classes such as, Yoga, Cycling, Kickboxing, Aqua Aerobics, and not paying for a gym membership…
Heck, why not have a heated pool, whirlpool spa and a sauna, and keep your nose and your ears this winter.

Lets talk about your options "In, and Out of the Loop",
